AGNÈS GEOFFRAY - The camera as a gun

Agnes Geoffray is a female photographer living and working in Paris and Brussels, she currently works with photography and writing.  The image above is a one off picture that she created, the image explores the idea that the viewer is almost at the trigger of the gun. This is a striking image as firstly its quite a strange image one because its a female with the gun and secondly you ask your self why is she holding the gun and her eye. I think Geoffray was also reviewing the idea that a camera shutter is similar to a gun trigger, if this woman was to shoot herself, it would be arguable that when you shot the trigger on the camera you would be loosing moment to save her and take the gun off the female. The angle that the image is taken from makes the viewer feel as if they are the one behind the gun, juxtaposing the prospective of the photograph.
